The Paramount recently saw a slew of musical legends when it hosted the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Red Carpet Fundraiser Gala.

The event included  the likes of The Billy Joel Band, Debbie Gibson, Dionne Warwick, Jen Chapin, plus many more stars!

After a foray into reality television through MTV’s “Making The Band” in 1999 and 2000, a group of then-19-year-old musicians became O-Town – a vehicle for songs like “Liquid Dreams” and “All Or Nothing.”

Now in their thirties, having taken a ten-year break, O-Town will take the Paramount stage on Nov. 5 showcasing songs from a new album – alongside past singles and cover songs in the hour-and-a-half set.

The Kooks, a British band of pop-rockers celebrating 10 years on the music scene this year, will take the Paramount stage next Thursday, Oct. 9, as part of a world tour to promote their latest record, “Listen.”

The band’s newest album, which debuted at no. 16 on the UK charts after a Sept. 8 release, incorporates elements of jazz, gospel and R&B into their sound and is said to be "exuberant" and "bristling with character."

Before she was a world-traveling girl-group member, Texas native Ally Brooke Hernandez was preparing for high school graduation, “heavily involved” in her church and living a “simple” life.

Today, she and four others are known as “Fifth Harmony” – a group of female singers, aggregated by producer Simon Cowell during season two of “The X Factor” in 2012.

On Sept. 3, musician Colbie Caillat, lover of donuts and dubstep, will take the stage of The Paramount in Huntington.

Joined by opening act Alex and Sierra, as well as special guest Andy Grammer, this will not be Caillat’s first visit to The Paramount – she most recently played the Huntington venue in May 2013. But this time will be different, she said: “Bigger,” with a “massive TV screen,” “amazing lighting” and “shiny things dangling from the stage.”

“I have all new stage production,” said Caillat, 29. “We went to the next level with this one; I’ve never had a tour this size.”

If your college had a radio station in the ’90s, you know Guided By Voices. The Ohio-based, rock indie band got extensive airplay on the college circuit and was a favorite of DJs on internet radio, a precursor to today’s satellite radio.

For the rest of us, it’s likely we've had at least a brush with a Guided By Voices song. There are, after all, hundreds of them. The band has spit out songs and albums at a prolific rate during a 20-year run, and - even after disbanding in 2004 - they have come out with 6 additional reunion albums.

The ’90s almost seem too recent for there to be a revival show, but that’s how Art Alexakis, lead singer and guitarist of the alternative rock band Everclear, is billing the four-group Summerland Tour he’ll headline.
