Two men, one wielding a shotgun, held up and robbed a Huntington Station store Monday night, Suffolk police said.

Just before closing time at around 7:50 p.m., the two men entered the MetroPCS store at 1669 New York Ave. and demanded cash an employee, police said. The employee complied with the demands, handing over cash to the robbers.

With the money in hand, the men fled the store and headed northbound on New York Avenue toward 11th Street as police responded to the scene, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which is being classified as first-degree robbery, and police were still searching for the men as of deadline Wednesday.

Police said Second Squad detectives are investigating whether there were any ulterior motives behind the robbery.

Detectives ask anyone with information on the incident to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
