Police: Hooded Man Robs Roslyn Savings Bank

A man walked into the Roslyn Savings Bank at 363 E. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station and slipped a note to a teller demanding cash, police said.

Suffolk police are on the hunt for a man who robbed the Roslyn Savings Bank in Huntington Station Tuesday morning.

The robbery at approximately 11:30 a.m., police said, when a man walked into the bank at 363 E. Jericho Turnpike and slipped a note to a teller demanding cash. The teller gave the robber cash from the drawer and the man fled the scene on foot. The direction as to where he fled is unknown. It is also uncertain how much he stole, police said.

The suspect was described to police as between 25-35 years old and approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall. With a medium build and unshaven, police said he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a black baseball hat.

Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are currently investigating the incident.

As of Wednesday afternoon, there is no update on the case and police believe that this crime is not connected to any other robberies previously reported in the area.
