Police: 2 Dead, 1 Injured In Fort Salonga Crash

Suffolk police are investigating a single-car crash that killed two people early this morning in Fort Salonga.

Police said a man was driving north on Fort Salonga Road just east of Makamah Road at around 4:30 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and it struck a tree. The driver and a backseat passenger died, police said.

A third passenger, who was seated in the front, was seriously injured and transported to Stony Brook University Hospital.

As of 10:45 a.m., police had not released the identities of the victims.

Suffolk Second Squad detectives are investigating the fatal crash.
