A sting of 10 businesses in Huntington Station targeting the sale of alcohol to minors netted three arrests Friday, Suffolk police said.

Police arrested Robert Weiss, 51, employed by The Grog Shop, at 185 Depot Road; Rafael Tineo, 41, employed by the Huntington Deli, 1548 New York Ave.; Yilmaz Biyik, 69, employed by Citgo Groceries, 1811 New York Ave. All three men were charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.

The businesses that refused the sale of alcohol to a minor were: Compruebe Deli and Grocery, Mishael Grocery Corp., Yary’s Deli, Los Cercadillos Grocery, Jenny’s Deli, Hola Central American Deli and Express Convenience Stop, all in Huntington Station.

“Some of the businesses were chosen in response to community complaints while others were randomly selected,” a police statement said. “The operation was part of an ongoing effort by the Suffolk County Police Department to ensure compliance of laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol.”
