Undefeated boxer Chris Algieri, a Greenlawn native, will take to the ring this Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the biggest fight of his life.
There, on June 14, he’ll be in the HBO spotlight as he battles Ruslan “The Siberian Rocky” Provodnikov for the 140-pound World Boxing Organization title.
Although Algieri enters the bout with a 19-0 record – with eight knockouts – to his credit, analysts view him as an underdog. But Algieri has said in interviews that he will outmaneuver the hard-hitting Siberian pugilist, relying on “master boxing” to prevail.
If you can’t make it to Brooklyn to catch it live, watch the bout on “HBO Boxing After Dark,” airing at 10 p.m. on Saturday.
