Murder-Suicide At Motor Inn, Cops Say

An apparent murder-suicide occurred at the Commack Motor Inn, pictured above, on Wednesday.

There was an apparent murder-suicide at the Commack Motor Inn yesterday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A man and a woman were found dead in a room at the 2231 Jericho Turnpike inn by an employee at around 12:33 p.m., according to police. The employee entered the room after the occupants failed to check out at their scheduled time, and discovered the bodies.

Police said the following investigation revealed that the man killed the woman and then shot himself.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner is determining the cause of death for the woman, according to police.

Police said they are withholding the identities of both the man and the woman pending notification of next of kin.
