Unity In The Community On Huntington Awareness Day

The eighth annual Huntington Awareness Day Unity in the Community Parade & Fair celebrated community spirit and several local leaders on Saturday. This year’s festivities were co-chaired by Dolores Thompson and South Huntington Superintendent David Bennardo.

The seven honorees were Rabbi Jeffrey Clopper, of Huntington-based Temple Beth El; Suffolk Police Officer Claudia Delgado; Mohammad Esmaels, owner of Embroidme; Rev. Larry Jennings, of Huntington-based Bethel AME; former longtime South Huntington school board President Jim Kaden; Huntington high schooler Emily Andrea Mirón; and Rev. Bernadette Watkins, a Christian leader and activist.
