A fire that engulfed a 10-wheel dump truck shut down a stretch of Park Avenue early Wednesday morning, police and fire officials said.

Huntington Code Enforcement officers and Suffolk County police cracked down last month on two Huntington Station residences that were found to have illegal apartments, and be in violation of town code, according to town officials.

Suffolk County Legislator William “Doc” Spencer (D-Centerport) has spearheaded a resolution to strengthen the county’s prohibition on synthetic drugs. The bill, passed by the legislature on last week, expands the county’s law to include so-called “analogues” of certain dangerous synthetics.
