Suffolk police and federal agents are partnering to create a “hot list” of known and potential violent criminals, and get illegal guns off the streets, in high-crime areas like Huntington Station.

A 75-year-old Huntington Station woman and two other Suffolk residents died over the weekend after clearing snow from their homes, police said.

Town of Huntington Highway Superintendent Peter Gunther called for change Monday after he said his workers had difficulty clearing snow from the roads over the weekend due to residents and private contractors pushing the white stuff back onto the streets.
