Work is underway on the property next door to Stop & Shop supermarket; the land has been cleared with hopes of building the new home for the Atlantic Auto Group’s Chevrolet of Huntington, which is currently located at 370 Oakwood Road.

Restaurant’s Resurrection After Fire

Nine months after a fire closed Huntington village’s Red Restaurant and its neighbors, Red has reopened as a “more open, warmer” space with “the original heart of Red,” its general manager said.

The New York Avenue restaurant owned by Nino Antuzzi reopened on Dec. 16 after being taken out by an wide-reaching March 1, 2014 fire. Red’s current incarnation features a new cocktail menu of vintage-inspired drinks, a new wine list and a completely new interior, General Manager Kelly Danek said on Tuesday.

More Light On Public Safety

Following community outcry about public safety in Huntington Station, the Town of Huntington will double the wattage of bulbs lighting Depot Road.

“Brighter bulbs are needed to deter crime and provide our residents with a safer environment,” said Councilwoman Susan Berland, who lobbied for the change. “The residents of Depot Road deserve to feel safe and I believe these measures will help.”
