In the aftermath of the stabbing death of 18-year-old Walt Whitman High School senior Maggie Rosales, residents are calling for an increased police presence in the area.

As they push for the county to reopen a Second Precinct police annex, the Suffolk County PD has confirmed more patrols will be shortly underway in Huntington Station.

Outraged Over Violent Crimes, Residents March On Town Hall

In an emotionally charged night Tuesday, hundreds marched in the name of not only the slain teen Maggie Rosales (a Walt Whitman High School senior stabbed to death in Huntington Station), but also for the three other victims of unsolved homicides just within the year (including Station residents Danny Carbajal, 25, Luis Ramos-Rodriguez, 38, and Sarah Strobel, 23). 

Following a deliberately peaceful and organized march, tensions flared in the town board meeting afterwards, as many Huntington Station residents demanded justice needed to be served and action had to finally be taken to stop the string of violent crimes that had ravaged the hamlet for so long.
