A proposal to rezone a northern Huntington property to pave the way for a planned apartment building will be the subject of a public hearing before the town board next week.

Students and advocates across Huntington are taking a stand against gun violence in the wake of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting last month.

With a promise made to preserve and restore a historic Main Street facade, local historians have signed off on two developers’ plan to erect a 271,836-square-foot mixed-use development with 84 luxury apartments in Huntington village.
