When learning the story of Adam Spector, the Huntington school board member who died June 26 at age 51 following a four-year battle with lung cancer, one has the opportunity to do so using his own words thanks to his blog, “My So Called Life,” and also from the many accounts of those who loved him dearly.

A massive fire engulfed the medical complex located at 175 East Main St., where the offices of several medical professionals are located, on June 23 (this past Monday).

Over 200 firetrucks from Halesite, Huntington, Huntington Manor, Centerport and Greenlawn all responded to the fire, just before 8:30 p.m, trying their best to contain the blaze.

Huntington’s Daniel Karpen is free on bail after being arrested at Huntington Town Hall on a felony assault charge June 17.

He was freed from county jail after posting $5,025 cash bail on June 19, according to online court records.
