Wedding Announcements

At minimum include the names of the bride and groom, date and location of the wedding, and names of the parents. You may also like to include extra information such as hometowns, schools attended, and employment history.

·         The bride and groom's full name, age and town of residence

·         The bride and groom's parents's names and towns of residence

·         The bride and groom's occupations

·         The bride and groom's parents's occupations

·         The bride and groom's maternal and paternal grandparents

·         The bride and groom's school, college, and degrees applicable

·         The date and location of the wedding's ceremony and reception

Engagement Announcements

·         The Traditional Way
"Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith of Huntington, NY, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Jane Smith, to Michael William Kelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Zachary Kelly of Lloyd Harbor, New York. A June wedding has been planned."

·         If the Bride's Parents Are Divorced and Both Are Announcing
"Mrs. Amy Smith of Huntington, NY, and Mr. Thomas Smith of Centerport, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Jane smith, to Michael William Kelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Zachary Kelly of Lloyd Harbor, New York. A June wedding has been planned."

·         If the Bride's Parents Are Divorced and One of Them Is Announcing
"Mrs. Amy Smith of Huntington, announces the engagement of her daughter, Samantha Jane Smith, to Michael William Kelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Zachary Kelly of Lloyd Harbor, New York. Miss Hall is also the daughter of Mr. Thomas Smith of Centerport." (Note: The parent who raised you should be the one to issue the announcement.)

·         If the Groom's Parents Are Divorced
"Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith of Huntington, NY, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Jane Hall, to Michael William Kelly, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly [or Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong, if remarried] of Northport, NY and Mr. James Zachary Kelly of Lloyd Harbor, New York."
