Parking Revenue $1.6M Short

A delayed roll-out of the town’s new multi-meter parking system and technical glitches has resulted in the Town of Huntington coming up $1.6 million short of revenue projections, town officials have confirmed.

The town had budgeted for $3,053,000 in parking meter and ticket revenue in 2014, but is only expected to bring in $1.2 million, according to budgets.

Art Comes Alive And ‘Off The Walls’ At Fair

SPARKBOOM hosted its second annual “OFF THE WALLS: Block Party + Street Fair” last Saturday at Mt. Calvary Holy Church in Huntington.

The New York State grant-funded project hosted by the Huntington Arts Council, works to “expose emerging creative talent on Long Island, [in the Gen-Y population]” said spokesman Raj Tawney.

There were multiple bands, performers, art exhibits, and even a face painter and BMX stunt show!
