State Hoops Champs Honored By Nassau Executive

The Elmont Memorial High School boys varsity basketball team and head coach George Holub were honored by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano last week for their New York State Class A title.

Elmont defeated upstate Troy High School 57-43 in the state final played at Glens Falls Civic Center on March 13.

The team visited the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola to commemorate its win.

“It takes tremendous dedication, commitment and hard work from your teammates and coaches to become county, Long Island and statewide champions.” Mangano stated. “Nassau County is truly proud to serve as home to the Long Island Class A and New York State champs!”
