TEA & TIQUES: A charming
little place to escape, tea&tiques was born from an idea
shared over a cup of tea to reality in 15 years. Proprietor
Pat Sileo inherited several antique tea cups and had a tea
party for her friends. It was so successful, that the teas
took place at least four times a year. She was asked, “Why
not do it for a living?” It’s now a place to meet
your friends, feast on treats, sip a cup of tea, or have a
light lunch and browse the antique and gift items for sale.
It's an intimate and comfortable gathering place at 408 New
York Avenue, just at the south end of the Village, 631 421-TEAS.
Open Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, 12pm - 6pm; Thursday:
12pm - 8pm (after 6PM BYOB); and other times.
A FOODIE SPANKING: An e-mail
responding to our lunchtime reviews reads as follows: “Pete
& Mike - I can't believe you have actually been in ‘the
Skippers’ in Northport. Just as recently as last Sunday
May 28 my husband and I along with another couple had dinner
at Skippers and sat in a booth that overlooked Northport Harbor
and park. The hostess actually asked, ‘Would you like
a booth with a view of the Harbor?’ .L.Berleth
(Foodie note: There are views, and then,
there are views! And not from our seat!)
