Also, for your holiday gift giving Panama is offering a 15% discount on gift certificates purchased by November 21 — great for the foodie on your list. Or consider Thanksgiving dinner. ELVES AT SOUTHDOWN: It would appear there have been elves baking day and night at Southdown Marketplace (205 Wall Street, 631-351-9660). Suddenly and out of nowhere, there appeared on the shelves, Southdown Marketplace’s own store-baked cakes and cookies. The lemon drop cookies look just like your grandmothers (did your grandma bake?), fresh chocolate crackups, oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies . . . just to name a few. Fresh baked cornbread has the grown ups excited while the beautifully decorated fresh candied and caramel apples have the kids squealing with joy! We have not spotted the elf, but we are pretty certain that there is one! Check it out yourself and let us know!
