REALLY COOKIN’: The joint was jumpin’
at Wild Fin on New York Avenue when owner/chef Steve Del Lima
decided to ratchet up the excitement during the restaurant’s
recent Halloween Howl. At the height of the party, Del Lima
grabbed a microphone and made a very public proposal to Jennifer
Winter, who also happens to be operations manager at the restaurant.
The pair, who were costumed as a couple of French Pirates,
were the center of attention when Steve sang Blind Faith’s
“Cant Find My Home,” and read aloud a poem that
he wrote for Jennifer when they first started dating. Then,
taking a knee, he proposed. Jennifer answered without hesitation
and the packed house loved it. “I had some family here
and we had special champagne glasses brought in… it
was very special,” said Jennifer. The consensus seems
to be that she got a great cook but he did even better. Congrats!
