BLACKSTONE GOES IRISH: It’s St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long at Blackstone Steakhouse (10 Pinelawn Road, Melville, 631-271-7780). Authentic Irish specials, like corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie and Irish lager will keep your belly full, while live entertainment will keep your toes tapping. On Thursday, March 15: enjoy lunch with John Custi on accordion from 12-2 p.m. and dinner with Hagen School of Dance’s Irish step dancers from 7-7:30 p.m. On Friday, March 16, Irish harpist Susan Kelly Mann plays from 12-2 p.m. while Hagen’s dancers go on for dinner again at 7, followed by Celtic trio Cady Finlayson & Band from 8:30-10:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 17, the Hagen dancers join you for dinner again, followed by the Kenny McLeod Celtic band from 9-11 p.m.

CELBRITY SPOTTED: Rapper Lloyd Banks echoed good taste across the Long Island Sound on Saturday, March 2. Before headlining the midnight show in Connecticut’s Tuxedo Junction, the plaid-jacketed and blue-jeaned Banks dined with friends at Prime – An American Kitchen and Bar (117 New York Ave., Huntington, 631-385-1515, www.restaurantprime.com) sharing crab cakes, sushi, porterhouse and rib-eye steaks with all sides.

THE ELKS GO IRISH, TOO: Where can you get an all-you-can-eat buffet stocked with Irish favorites for $20? The Huntington Elks Lodge (195 Main St., Huntington) of course. The lodge will host an Irish-themed St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance Party on Saturday, March 17 from 7-10 p.m. There will be beer specials all night long, traditional Irish music by K. Gibbons, and Irish step dancers from Mulvihil-Lynch Studio of Irish Dance. “The Elks Lodge will be turned into an Irish pub of sorts by adding food, drink and décor with a St. Patrick’s theme,” said Elks Exalted Ruler Jack Safarik. For more information and reservations, call 631-271-1565.

HELP BILLY OUT: In a note on his website, Canterbury Ales (314 New York Ave., Huntington, 631-549-4404, www.canterburyales.com) owner Billy Hoest sends a message to his patrons: Help me break a corned beef record! “We are going to try and out-do ourselves this year and with your help we would like to sell more than 2,200 pounds of corned beef by March 31,” Billy writes. “We prepare it a few different ways, so make sure to come in and try the best corned beef in town.” We’ll check in with Billy soon to see where he stands on his pledge, but in the meantime, if you decide to help him out, visit the DineHuntington Facebook page and let us know which Canterbury Ales type of corned beef is your favorite.

ST. PADDY’S DAY PUB CRAWL: If green beer is what you’re looking for this weekend, then green beer is what you will get March 16-18 at the Luck of Irish World’s Largest Pub Crawl, sponsored by PubCrawls.com. Various local bars, including Finley’s (43 Green St., Huntington, 631-351-3440), The Black Lantern (10 Wall St., Huntington, 631-923-2022), Rookies Sports Club (70 Gerard St, Huntington, 631-923-0424, www.rookiesny.com), Black and Blue (65 Wall St., Huntington, 631-385-9255, www.blackandbluehuntington.com) and Mary Caroll’s (1 Clinton Ave, Huntington, 631-223-2088, www.marycarrolls.com) are participating. Ticket information at pubcrawls.com.

TWISTED VINE: Restaurant spaces don’t sit empty for long in Huntington village. The space left vacant after a fire at the former XO Wine and Chocolate Bar will soon be home to The Twisted Vine (24 Clinton Ave., Huntington). We can’t tell you much about it, other than a guess that the “vine” reference in the name refers to grapes, which means wine, and their Facebook page describes only “new contemporary” cuisine. We’ll keep you posted. Meanwhile, hit ’em up on Facebok and see if you can’t be one of their first 10 friends.

THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM: There will soon be a new food market in town. Chef David Intonato, formerly of Jamesport Manor Inn and Mill Pond House in Centerport, reportedly plans to open a specialty food shop called The Purple Elephant Specialty Foods & Market. Plans call for an early spring opening on Route 25A in Northport at the Britannia Marina & Yacht Club. The market will offer prepared foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will have a small area for seating. Good luck David!
