KEY WEST ROAD TRIP: Prime – An American Kitchen and Bar (117 New York Ave., Huntington 631-385-1515 www.restaurantprime.com) takes diners on a culinary expedition with its Road Trip dinner menus from 4 p.m. daily except Sunday from 3 p.m. Three-course menus are themed to a new region of the United States every six to ten weeks. Currently menu selections from Key West, designed by Prime’s Executive Chef Gregg Lauletta and Corporate Chef Cornelius Gallagher, are available. Think Florida stone crab claws with key lime cocktail sauce; or scallop ceviche with jicama, avocado and mango, and that’s just the appetizers. Of course you’ll wrap it all up with a Key lime tart. Full menus online.

NEW TO THE SCENE: You knew it first as Umberto’s, then Gennaro’s. Now new owners bring a new name, new look and new menu to the Italian restaurant in the Fort Hill shopping plaza in Huntington. Watch for a new sign announcing Primo Piatto (138 East Main St., Huntington 631-935-1391). The name is Italian for “first dish,” and Primo Piatto owner Fabrizio Castelli aims to be first with his Italian specialties. Drop by and tell them the Long Islander Foodies sent you.

FESTIVAL FOOD: We were as surprised as anyone to see Nisen Sushi among the zeppoli trucks and sausage vendors at the Long Island Fall Festival in Huntington this past weekend. Co-owner Tom Lam was on the scene and the sushi rolls were flying. It may be the first time we ever ate sushi standing up, but what a delicious change of pace from the usual carnival food.

OYSTERFEST TIME: Oyster lovers, rejoice. The 28th Annual Oyster Festival makes its return this year to Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16. The festival offers a fun mixture of activities for the entire family. Activities include tall ships, a petting zoo, live music, delicious food, carnival rides, arts and crafts, antiques, pirate shows, interactive exhibits, harbor cruises and of course the iconic oyster eating and shucking contest. The food will be prepared by volunteer chefs and culinary pros working together to cook and serve dozens of unique oyster, clam and other seafood concoctions, along with some traditional festival fare. Proceeds from this event benefit community non-profit organizations.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: Bohlsen Restaurant Group’s H2O (215 W. Main St., Smithtown 631-361-6464 www.h2oseafoodgrill.com) is celebrating its 10th anniversary with 10 different “number 10”-themed dinner special specials. The 10-day celebration culminates with an invitation-only Anniversary Reception on Monday, 10/10. Check the website for each evening’s special.

HUNTINGTON RESTAURANT WEEK: Do we need to remind you? Oct. 9-16, 55 restaurants from throughout the Town of Huntington offer 3-course, prix-fixe menus for $24.95 per person (Saturday to 7 p.m. only). It’s an eight-day week, so you can try eight new restaurants – 16 if you eat twice a night! Menus are online at www.DineHuntington.com.
