HUNTINGTON SOCIAL: Dust off those spats and get ready to mutter “Baby needs a new pair of shoes” into the peephole. Huntington Social (330 New York Ave., Huntington huntingtonsocial.com) – a gastropub and cocktail lounge recalling Prohibition-era drink parlors – is set to open in the former Chesterfield’s, upstairs at the corner of New York Ave. and Main St., in Huntington village. The vision of famed chef Christopher Lee and co-owners Frank “Rocky” Bruno (NOMA), Larry Rizzo and Kevin McCaughan, Huntington Social will recreate the speakeasies of yesteryear with a modern menu as American as the speakeasy inspiration. Chef Lee recently returned from the Aspen Classic where he served up a pretty impressive menu for sponsors Fiji Water. The signature drink at his new place, though, will be the bathtub gin. Maybe it’s that or the monkeys in the logo, but we think we’ll find things delightfully playful at Huntington Social.

ALL THE RIGHT MOVES: We know you can eat, but can you dance? Find out at Perfecto Mundo (1141-1 Jericho Turnpike, Commack 631-864-2777 perfectomundo-li.com) where the Latin Fusion cuisine is served with a side of live music. Tonight, Thursday, July 14, Mambo Loco plays high-energy Afro-Cuban, Latin dance music beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, 8:30 p.m., the pace slows as Russ Seeger plays blues, folk, bluegrass, psychedelic, classic rock covers; and on Saturday, July 16, 9:30 p.m., it’s Chris performing blues, folk, bluegrass and classic rock covers.

SURF’S UP: Here’s something to help you make it through Mondays. Tuesday is Surf ‘N’ Turf night at HONU Kitchen & Cocktails (363 New York Ave., Huntington 631-421-6900 www.honukitchen.com). Every Tuesday a six-ounce lobster tail and a six-ounce petit filet mignon is $24. It’s a great time to check out the restaurant under its new ownership.

BURGER TIME: Every day is burger day at Canterbury Ales (314 New York Ave., Huntington 631-549-4404). Seven days a week for lunch, enjoy a $10.99 burger – beef, turkey, or veggie – with up to two toppings. Stop by for a burger and a beer, and tell Billy the Foodies sent you. Cheers!

THE FAST AND THE CUDDLY: Fast cars, big boats, glamorous people and Chef Greg Lauletta’s finest… add a few cuddly kittens and puppies and there will pretty much be something for everyone at Huntington’s Prime – An American Kitchen and Bar (117 New York Ave., Huntington 631-385-1515 www.restaurantprime.com) next Thursday, July 21. That’s when Prime and Hamptons magazine are to co-host the Gold Coast Affair to benefit North Shore Animal League America. The evening will bring together the best of Long Island luxury and glamour to raise funds for the Animal League through sponsor donations and a raffle for luxury goods. Guests can pose for a photo to personalize their own Hamptons magazine cover with Animal League Director Beth Stern and adopt a puppy, kitten, dog or cat to take home. If cuddling a performance car or yacht is more your speed, Ferrari Maserati of Long Island will have cars on display and luxury boat retailer Surfside 3/Marine Max of Huntington will show an Azimut yacht for drooling and envying only; pets will be available for immediate adoption.
