and Americas Vet Dogs charities. Now playing

MORE BILLY: The Piano Man Long Islands own Billy
Joel is getting around in Huntington these days. The
most recent sighting was Saturday, May 14, when Billy dined
out with girlfriend Alexis Roderick and daughter Alexa Ray
Joel at Vitae Restaurant & Wine Bar (54 New St., Huntington,
631-385-1919 www.vitaeli.com). Billy had a Caesar salad and
roast chicken; Alexis a lobster cocktail followed by pan-seared
scallops; and Alexa a wedge salad and orecchiette with sausage
and broccoli rabe. Among the desserts shared were crème
brulee, molten lava cake and strawberry shortcake. A bottle
of red was shared by the couple with white wine as the choice
for Alexa. Perhaps its because hes dating a Centerport
girl, but Billy has been seen around town with some frequency,
most recently celebrating Alexiss birthday at Porto-Vivo.
LIVE MUSIC: The music is live at Bel Posto (15 New St., Huntington,
631-421-4600 www.belpostony.com) nearly every night. Coming
up on the entertainment schedule, J. Haus plays at 8 p.m.
on Friday, May 20; Jill Talve starts at 9 p.m. on Friday,
May 21, and catch Mike Dorio starting at 7 p.m. next Wednesday,
May 25. Check the website for more upcoming dates.
LADIES NIGHT: HONU Kitchen & Cocktails (363 New York Ave.,
Huntington, 631-421-6900 www.honukitchen.com) has launched
Ladies Night every Thursday night. Ladies are offered half-price
signature cocktails at the bar from 8 p.m. to midnight. A
DJ starts the music at 9 p.m.
OIL & VINEGAR: The Foodies are intrigued. A sign in the
window at the former Blossom store on Huntingtons Main
Street reads simply, Coming Soon Crushed Olive
to announce the arrival of a retailer of fine olive oils and
balsamic vinegars. Looks like we may finally get an answer
to our question: Just how does one choose a good balsamic
vinegar? Stay tuned for more details.
