OLD IS NEW: After buying and renovating the former Old Fields
Inn (81 Broadway, Greenlawn, 631-754-9868) owners David and
Christine Tunney went for the soft opening, quietly opening
the doors in time for the holidays last year. Now its
time for the party. Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce
sent out an invitation for a ribbon cutting ceremony to be
held Thursday, April 14 at 6 p.m. Immediately following, the
Tunneys welcome anyone and everyone to an open house til
8 p.m. to introduce the recently remade restaurant now known
simply as Old Fields restaurant.
PRIME RAISES FUNDS FOR JAPAN: Prime An American Kitchen
and Bar (117 New York Ave., Huntington 631-385-1515 www.restaurantprime.com)
is helping to raise relief funds for victims of the Japan
earthquake and Pacific tsunami. The restaurant will contribute
$5 from every Toro Roll sold from now through Saturday, April
30. The Toro Roll is made with fatty tuna, the most prized
and expensive part of tuna, along with scallion and toasted
sesame. Priced at $31, it is new to the menu in support of
Japan. In addition, Open Table, which charges restaurants
for each booking made via its service, will donate $1 for
each person in a group reservation made via its Restaurant
Relief Efforts for Japan page.
