THEY BUILT A BETTER BURGER: There’s a new burger in town. A complete spring menu makeover at Porto Vivo (7 Gerard St., Huntington, 631-385-8486, www.porto-vivo.com) includes the addition of a superb burger. Chef Giuseppe Napoli’s Kobe beef-based blend weighs in at 10 ounces and is piled high with bacon, pancetta, avocado, lettuce, tomato and red onion. It’s so tall it needs a stake to hold burger, bun, and extras in place, which gives the chef a nifty place to poke the pickle spear. It’s served on a wood plank with Porto-Vivo’s signature herbed-parmesan fries. A few things you’ll need to know: it’s available only on the bar menu, and when you’re ready to eat, lift the burger with both hands, find a spot to go in, and don’t put it down until you are finished.

MORNING, SUNSHINE: No one calls this Foodie “Sunshine” in the morning. Perhaps what we need is the dose of healthy goodness found in Lisa Harris’s Morning Sunshine Breakfast Cookie. It’s always at Lisa’s shop, Caffe Portofino (249 Main St., Northport, 631-262-7656, www.caffeportofino11768.com) and now can be found at Christina’s Epicure in East Norwich. Lisa will be at the store in person from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 1. Try a cookie, and tell Lisa the Foodies sent you.
