THEY BUILT A BETTER BURGER: Theres a new burger in town.
A complete spring menu makeover at Porto Vivo (7 Gerard St.,
Huntington, 631-385-8486, www.porto-vivo.com) includes the
addition of a superb burger. Chef Giuseppe Napolis Kobe
beef-based blend weighs in at 10 ounces and is piled high
with bacon, pancetta, avocado, lettuce, tomato and red onion.
Its so tall it needs a stake to hold burger, bun, and
extras in place, which gives the chef a nifty place to poke
the pickle spear. Its served on a wood plank with Porto-Vivos
signature herbed-parmesan fries. A few things youll
need to know: its available only on the bar menu, and
when youre ready to eat, lift the burger with both hands,
find a spot to go in, and dont put it down until you
are finished.
