FARMERS MARKET: The regions first winter farmers market
is being held weekly in the Town of Huntington, alternating
between St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Northport
Village and Sweet Hollow Hall in Melville. Localvores who
got to know the vendors brought to Northport by G&G Farmers
Market will find them set up on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. at St. Pauls Church on Main Street or Sweet Hollow
Hall through April. Find out which location is which week

PRIX-FIXE LUNCH? Remember when people did lunch? The $15 prix-fixe
at Bel Posto (15 New St., Huntington, 631-421-4600, www.belpostony.com)
is served Tuesday through Friday from noon-3 p.m. Menu includes
a salad or appetizer and entrée. Weve heard good
things about the new menu at the former Mangiamo. Lunch just
may be the perfect time to give it a try.
BEER AND STEAK: Rotary Club of Huntington hosts its annual
Steak and Beer Tasting Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 25 at Centerport
Yacht Club, beginning at 7 p.m. The cost for the fundraiser
is $125 per person with open wine/beer all night. Proceeds
will benefit the Huntington YMCA. For tickets, call 631-421-4131.
GRAND DAME GETS A LIFT: Recently sold, Panama Hatties (872
E. Jericho Tpke., Huntington Station, 631-351-1727) is undergoing
a progressive makeover. New owner George Echeverria is exercising
his belief that haute cuisine is best eaten amid crown mouldings,
crystal chandeliers and elegant fabrics. With several dining
rooms, work can be ongoing while construction is under way.

JAZZ ON THE VINE: Get out of the cold and warm up with a hot
lineup of over 50 premium jazz performances at the Long Island
Winterfest Jazz On the Vine festival on Long Islands
East End now through March 20. For $10 per ticket, guests
will enjoy a glass of wine and performances by renowned jazz
musicians at winery tasting rooms and hotels every weekend
over the six-week period. Some high-profile talent is expected.
