MEET NONNA LIDIA: Celebrate an Italian Christmas with Lidia Bastianich, host of the PBS cooking show “Lidia’s Italy,” as she speaks about and signs her new book, “Nonna Tell Me A Story: Lidia’s Christmas Kitchen,” Dec. 16, 7 p.m. at Book Revue (313 New York Ave., Huntington 631-271-1442). In her new book, Lidia shares the story of celebrating Christmas in Italy with her five grandchildren. When Lidia was a child, she spent Christmas with her grandparents and learned to cook with her Nonna Rosa by preparing food in their smokehouse and kitchen. Lidia and her brother would also find a big juniper bush to cut down for their holiday tree, and decorated it with nuts, berries, and herbs they collected for their meals. Lidia’s new picture book is filled with Christmas traditions, recipes and decorating ideas.
