SWALLOW WOWS:
The Long-Islander Foodies had a taste at Swallow (366
New York Ave., Huntington 631-547-5388), newly opened in the
space previously occupied by Kozy Kettle. Owner and Executive
Chef James Tchinnis, formerly of Bistro 44 and Bin 56, offers
a New American menu with a creative approach. We tried filet
mignon kebabs, as well as a delicious crab cake that appeared
to be made almost entirely of crab meat served with a cilantro
sauce. The show-stopper, though, was a cup of butternut squash
cappuccino froth soup with hints of coffee and truffle oil
and a dollop of crème fraiche; a very sophisticated
tummy-warmer. Atmosphere is candlelight-cozy.
THANKSGIVING TO GO: Prime An
American Kitchen and Bar (117 New York Ave., Huntington 631-385-1515)

cook a complete take-away dinner for 10-12 people for $379
plus tax. The dinner package, with reheating instructions,

Day. It includes: roasted turkey apple chestnut croissant
