Three-course prix-fixe menus at $40 ($50 with wine) are themed to a new region of the world each month. The December Jet Set menu takes diners to France. Appetizer: individual pork confit with toast points or Jerusalem artichoke soup with truffled cream; paired with Bourgogne Blanc, Domaine de la Cadette; Main Course: roasted chicken, slow cooked vegetables and a farmhouse egg, or beef in Burgundy wine with mushroom, pearl onions and egg noodles; paired with Syrah/Grenache, Andre Brunel, Cotes du Rhone; Dessert: classic crème brulée with coconut chocolate macaroon, or dark chocolate mousse with mixed berries; paired with Muscat Beaumes de Venise.

CUPPA CASH: Georgio’s Coffee Roasters (146 W. Jericho Tpke., Huntington Station 631-238-2999) has just roasted a batch of what Georgio himself calls “the finest coffee the world has to offer.” La Esmeralda Gesha from Panama is only handled by a few roasters in the United States. A delicate floral, jasmine-peach flavored varietal, the coffee is very rare and priced accordingly, selling for $100/lb. or, for $10, Georgio will siphon-brew a cup for you.

TOAST IN TUSCANY: The newly renovated Restaurant Joanina (35A Gerard St., Huntington Village 631-549-2727) celebrates its grand re-opening with “A Toast in Tuscany,” Wednesday, Dec. 9, 7 - 10 p.m. The Oliva family has remodeled Joanina with a Tuscan farmhouse flavor and will welcome guests with live music, wine tastings, cocktails, food and raffles. Tickets for the night’s festivities are $60 in advance (by Dec. 7) or $70 at the door. Jefferson Primary School will be the beneficiary of proceeds from the event.
