CELEB-ISH SIGHTING: Stand-up comedian
Eddie Sarfaty enjoyed dinner at Besito in Huntington on a
recent Friday night following his appearance at Book Revue.
Sarfaty was in town plugging his new book Mental: Funny
in the Head. Dining with his mother and a friend, he
enjoyed Besitos famed tableside guacamole along other
Mexican specialties.
PIE TIME: The aroma of baking peach pies wafting from
inside A Rise Above Bake Shop (333 Main St., Huntington 631-351-9811)
was enough to get the Foodies in the door. Sure enough, the
girls in the kitchen were pulling a batch of fresh-baked peach
pies out of the oven and strewing streusel that brown
sugary, crumbly stuff across the tops of another batch.
Theyre $12.95 for an eight-inch pie. Also on deck was
a batch of the bakerys Key Lime Cheesecake, a cooling
dessert perfect for these hot summer days.
GOOD GRIEF, THATS AFFORDABLE: Back by popular
demand, Charlie Browns Steakhouse (88 Veterans Memorial
Hwy, Commack 631-462-4206) celebrates summer with a Shrimpfest
promotion running through Aug. 9. Choose Mediterranean Grilled
Shrimp, Coconut Fried Shrimp or Nantucket Fried Shrimp, paired
with unlimited salad bar plus one side for $15.99.
WHERES THE ROOF? Forget Wheres the
Beef? Customers of the Burger King in Huntington village
(241 New York Ave, Huntington 631-549-5909) may find themselves
asking Wheres the Roof? In fact, a big tarp
is protecting what little of the building is still standing
as the building undergoes an extensive renovation.
