ITALIAN WINE DINNER:
Prime, an American Kitchen and Bar  (117 New York Ave, Huntington 631-385-1515 www.restaurantprime.com) presents a unique Italian wine dinner on Thursday, February 12 for $150 per person. The evening presents the opportunity to taste award-winning wines currently available only in Italy. Wine director Paulo Villela will pour four wines from Cascina Iuli, winners of Gambero Rosso’s coveted Three Glass (Tre Bicchieri) award, the most prestigious wine award in Italy. The menu, especially created by Executive Chef Gregg Lauletta, pairs each wine with a dish that evokes the Italian heritage so clear in the wines. You’ll start with Sea Scallops in a Port Reduction with dumplings, bacon and Brussels sprout leaves, paired with a 2007 unoaked Umberta Barbera. Following is Gnocchi with Parmesan white truffle sauce and a 2002 Malidea. The main course is Bistecca Piemontese, a dry-aged sirloin with polenta, porcini mushrooms and Barbera reduction paired with a 2004 Barabba & 2001 Barabba, winner of the Tre Bicchieri. Finish with Panna Cotta with blood orange Moscato riduzione paired with a 2007 Moscato fior d’arancio. Bon appetito!
