FOODIE EMAIL BOX: If youre looking for one of
the best burgers in Huntington, look no further than Meehans
of Huntington. Weve been frequenting this mainstay
for over 15 years, their food is excellent. Their burgers
are No. 1 with our family! Just thought they should
get a mention. Thanks, the McKenna Family.
FOODIE EMAIL BOX 2: I enjoy your article each week
as I am always looking for new or forgotten places to eat
in or take out. I have a recommendation that may surprise
you but I think more people should know about it. Last
weekend I took a party of six to the Shamrock in Halesite.
They have a 2 - to 2-1/2 pound lobster special for $20.
I dont think there is a better deal in all of Huntington.
All six of us had the lobster so I cant speak to the
other items on the menu. They were out of large lobsters
so we each had 2 1-1/2 pound lobsters. The sides were
acceptable. The steamed cherry stone appetizer was delicious.
Dessert was so-so. All in all, a great deal in a casual, very
friendly setting. I know they have had this lobster
special all summer. I am not sure how long it will last
but it is definitely worth checking out. Let me know
what you think. Joe Iannucci
