Falcon Ridge Folk Festival
The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, which ranks among America’s largest and most prestigious music festivals, has announced it will inaugurate its 20th anniversary year by sponsoring a 23-show preview tour in May featuring four “emerging artists” who were voted “most wanted to return” by 2007 festival attendees.  The tour will showcase performing songwriters Anthony da Costa, Lindsay Mac, Joe Crookston and Randall Williams at renowned venues, including The Congregational Church of Huntington, 30 Washington Drive, Centerport May 3 at 8:30 p.m. Hosted by the Folk Music Society of Huntington tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for members. Meals On Wheels of Huntington is in need of volunteers, who work in teams, to deliver midday meals to shut-ins. It takes two hours of your time, one day a week. Substitutes are also needed to fill in, occasionally, when regular drivers are not available. They also have a pressing need for nurses, who can volunteer to screen potential clients.
